We pulled out of Memphis on time this moring. Can you believe it? Not a single student late, no attitude and great hearts.
Today we tackle the second leg of our journey to New Orleans. After an hour of driving we hit rain, not the serious storm kind just a steady rain. The rhythm of windshield wipers and the hiss of the van tires on the road made a hypnotic drone that put amost everyone to sleep.
At lunch time we all shared a meal together in Jackson, Mississippi. The Shoney’s Buffett called our names, our students loved it–Southern fried chicken, Mac & Cheese, and Collard Greens! Every thing was delicious and had a flavorful glaze of grease gave even the corn muffins a delightful shine.
Three hours to or destination. More to come…
